I bought it "new" and power cleaned the cosmaline with brake cleaner, gun scrub, and a tooth brush. I have experienced a few stove pipe occasions with an off-brand 30rnd mag and removed it.A Yugo, with grenade launcher and sights. Loved it, but it was stolen. The larger size and greater weight made it very stable on the bench, and accuracy was excellent. IMO for the collector the Russian Tula's are the most sought after SKS's with next being the factory 26's, but the rarest SKS rifles are the North Koreans and the Vietnamese ones.

If it the typical example could hold a 8" group at 600 yards with average ammo, AND if it weren't so difficult to mount a good scope, AND if it either had a good magazine option or a way to load it while scoped, it could be a very good medium range precision platform.
